DESCRIPTION:Join us for a good time with live music and a fabulous caller! We are pleased to welcome the band\, Against the Grain\, with caller Cheryl Graubart to Park Hall for a Contra Dance. \nSimilar to Square Dancing\, Contra is a type of social folk dance that involves lines of couples dancing in patterns following the instructions of a live caller. Rather than country-western music\, you can expect music designed for dancers\, featuring a steady\, pulsing tempo and blending popular folk traditions from Celtic to Cape Breton\, old-time to bluegrass\, with hints of Scandinavian and French- Canadian influences. \n6:45pm Doors open\n7:00pm Beginners Lesson\n7:30pm Dance begins \nAll ages and experience levels welcome.\nCoffee\, tea\, soda and snacks will be available by donation. SUMMARY:Supper Club - LOTR Potluck
DESCRIPTION:In a snug little house in Ben Lomond\, nestled among the trees\, there dwell two hobbits\, Mica and Matt. With full hearts and well stocked pantries\, they bid you come and join them at Hobbit Hollow on Saturday the 20th of June at four o’clock in the afternoon for a merry potluck feast. \nThere will be a costume contest of most excellent taste (costumes are encouraged\, though not required)\, along with riddles and trivia drawn from the tales of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit—both book and film alike. Prizes shall be awarded to those most clever (or perhaps most lucky!). \nAs all respectable folk know\, hobbits partake in many meals throughout the day\, and so each dish shall fall into its proper course. You are warmly encouraged to sign up for one or more\, according to your appetite and ambition.
