Village Market Performer FAQs

What type of musicians are you looking for?

We welcome small acoustic or lightly amplified groups that enhance the market atmosphere without overpowering it. Ideal styles include:

  • Folk
  • Jazz
  • Bluegrass
  • Classical
  • Soft rock
  • Other relaxed, community-friendly genres

We’re also looking for schools and programs to perform for promotion.

Are performers paid?

Yes, professional musicians are paid $50/hour. Schools and other programs are not paid, but can use the performance as an opportunity for promotion.

Is electricity available?

Yes! There is electricity available at the Mill Street Park, where the activities will be held. Make sure to bring an extension cord if you need to use power.

What size groups are allowed?

We welcome solo performers, duos, and trios.

Can musicians collect tips or sell merchandise?

Yes. Performers are welcome to:

  • Put out a tip jar
  • Sell CDs or band-related merchandise
What is the overall vibe you’re aiming for?

Think intimate, welcoming, and community-centered. The music should complement the market experience rather than dominate it.

What if it rains?

The market will be open rain or shine, so don’t forget your umbrella and rain boots on wet days!

Are there restrooms available?

Yes, limited restrooms are available at the Ben Lomond County Park for visitors.

We’d love to help. Email us at VillageMarket@BenLomondVillage.org.
